This is the biggest factor. A coupe has four pieces of glass plus the rear. A three-row SUV can have nine. More glass means more film and more labor.
A flat door window is a five-minute install once it is cut. A steeply curved rear windshield on a coupe, or the big quarter glass on a Tahoe, has to be heat-shrunk on the outside of the glass to take its shape before it can be installed on the inside as one piece. That is skilled, slow work and it is what you are paying a professional for.
Standard dyed-carbon film is included in our posted prices. Ceramic film costs more per foot because it blocks far more heat. The install labor is the same; the film is what changes the price.
If your truck or SUV already has dark glass in the back, you only need the fronts, which is a $60 job instead of a full-vehicle quote. Always tell us whether the rear is already tinted.
Removal is quoted separately. Film that is merely too dark peels off in sheets. Film that has baked for a decade comes off in flakes and can take an hour per window, plus adhesive cleanup.
Shade itself does not change the price. We stock 35% as the Maryland standard and lighter shades on request. Going darker than the law allows is not something we offer on Maryland cars, so it does not enter the quote.
You will see tint advertised around the DMV for less. Here is what usually makes it cheaper and what it costs you later.
When that tint fails, you pay for removal and then pay for new film. Our price includes the right film and a lifetime warranty, so the second bill never comes. That is the whole argument. Pick whichever shop you like, but ask every one of them what happens when the film turns purple.
The whole car. Every window on a sedan, coupe or hatchback, including the rear windshield.
Because it is two windows instead of five or more. Most pickups already have factory privacy glass in the back, so the two front doors are all that is needed.
Yes, removal is a separate line because the time varies so much with the condition of the old film. We quote removal and new film together on the phone.
No deposit. Book online, show up, pay when the work is done.
