Pro Tint DMV grew out of the Pro Wash family of hand car wash shops in Prince George's County. Customers kept asking for tint they would not have to redo, so we built a dedicated tinting operation with trained installers, computer-cut film and a warranty that means something.
Our parent company has been washing and detailing cars in Capitol Heights since 1997. Window tinting started as a side service in one bay. Within a few years it was busy enough to need its own technicians, its own plotter and its own name. Pro Tint DMV now operates inside all four of our Maryland shops, sharing the same lobby and the same phone number as the wash, with a crew that does nothing but glass.
We kept the pricing the same way we run the wash: flat, posted and no surprises. A car is $108. The two front windows on a truck are $60. If your vehicle does not fit one of those, we tell you the number before we touch it.
Every Pro Tint installer starts at the Capitol Heights shop and works under a senior technician before taking their own bay. They learn to clean glass the hard way first, because most tint failures are contamination under the film, not the film itself. Then they learn heat-shrinking on curved rear glass, which is the step that separates a clean one-piece rear window from a patchwork of seams.
We will not install a front windshield band or side glass darker than Maryland allows without telling you plainly that it is illegal and that it will fail an inspection. We will not hide a seam on a rear window and hope you do not notice. We will not reuse a pattern from a different trim level because it is close enough. If any of that sounds basic, you have not had cheap tint done.
This is the checklist the technician signs off on before your keys come back.
We would rather you know this before you pay than be surprised after. Tint film goes on the inside of the glass. It will reduce glare, block almost all UV, cut a meaningful share of cabin heat and keep what is in your back seat out of view. It will not make your car invisible to police, it will not fix a cracked window and it will not survive being scraped with a razor or an ammonia cleaner.
For the first few days you may see small water pockets or a light haze. That is the mounting solution evaporating through the film and it clears on its own. Keep the windows up and the rear defroster off for that period and you will be fine. If anything still looks wrong after a week, come back and we will look at it under the lights with you.
The lifetime warranty covers the film and the install. It does not cover glass that breaks, film that is scratched by something inside the car, or tint on a vehicle you have since sold. Those are the same terms every honest tint shop uses. We just put them in plain language.
